12 Weeks

Hudson is 12 weeks as of Thursday and cuter than ever! I couldn't sleep Friday night thinking how cute he is. If you can imagine this pure adorableness smiling and laughing at you and thinking you are his world you wouldn't be able to sleep either. He makes me feel glorious!
Hudson laughs a lot especially late at night he gets a little punchy and funny, I'll post some pics and you can see what I mean he will give me this inquisitive look and then coo and laugh I love it!
We recently discovered he really likes the color yellow, he will stare anything yellow down. Other things he likes to stare at are the clock next to my bed, a monkey and soccer ball burp cloth, stripes, and a piece of art I have of a mother and baby (he will coo at that it's so cute).
He imitates us more and more everyday and loves attention from his dad, sometimes I get a little jealous but than I remember all the fun we have when dad is gone and I figure he deserves some of this too.
His favorite song is 5 Little Ducks, he always thinks I'm the coolest when I sing it, sometimes I'll even change up the song because those ducks didn't listen to their mom, it often becomes "1 Little Hudson when out to play over the hills and far away, when his mom said come in for dinner, he ran in and gave her a big hug, 'cause he loves her so much". I know I have issues.
Well it's nap time for the whole Connolly home, sweet dreams!

Liz

Tonight I went to a relief society retreat and our speaker Wendi Dunford spoke. I had a hard time hearing everything because I was taking care of Hudson in the other room but the parts I caught were that women tend to loose their sanity as they age because they don't have something that they are the "expert" at and after raising children they forget who they are. I hope that is what we were supposed to get. Anyway I'm trying to find what I can be an expert at. I love being a mother and I'm perfectly content to be just that, it's what I've always wanted. However, I do have that piece of me that remembers I am smart and I can contribute to man kind in other ways besides my posterity, I don't believe anything will ever be more important but I do believe that I should challenge myself to grow in a way that will benefit mankind.
The things I love most are:
family and relationships
nature
the outdoors
traveling
running
cooking and dietetics
creating, fashion, art, design etc.
I'm an idealist and I always want to create the perfect for me everything

Some of my favorite things are:
color: I'd say I have a favorite spectrum from baby blue to greenish bluish turquoise
food: pasta with vegis, steak, french fries, and vanilla
animal: horse
number: 17
singer: Jack Johnson
friend: TJ

least favorite things:
pollution
traffic, more the aspect of being surrounded by people constantly zooming by going here and there, never enjoying where they are
seafood, minus salmon and a good trout
Well that's all for now I hope to dedicate this blog to all things I love and figure out what I can be "expert" on

White Chicken Lasagna

I made this Tuesday it was a delicious alternative to my regular Vegi Lasagna, and there were so many leftovers I didn't cook yesterday, so worth it. I found it on pinterest but the recipe can be found here http://oneordinaryday.wordpress.com/2011/03/23/white-chicken-lasagna/ I used canned chicken because I'm lazy like that and my chicken was still frozen and I refuse to microwave chicken, any one with me on that, it gives it the worst taste?

P.S. Hudson has had entirely too much fun today, I pulled out some new toys for him to play with which he completely ignored, he loves people not toys, which has led to this . . . . while watching me make dinner so cute!

The Lady Killer

Everywhere I go Hudson is ooood and awed over, I thought every baby got this but am noticing he gets an exceptional amount of attention. I even caught a teenage boy taking a picture of him with his phone today, what the heck. Lucky for him it was in a setting I couldn't confront him. Yesterday a friend and I were at the Dodo and our waitress totally offered baby sitting services and spent a good 15 mins telling me why she was a great baby sitter and starring at and talking to Hudson. Hudson has his dad's ridiculously long eye lashes and big blue twinkly eyes so I don't really blame people. Plus he loves to stare at people and figure them out and is a great smiler, he was born a smiling social butterfly. His number one nickname given to him by women we don't know is Lady Killer, the women who give this to him always call every other lady in the vicinity to come look at this baby.

Which digresses me to a funny story, we went to the Greek festivele last weekend, TJ met us there. On the way back to my car some hobo starts talking me telling me he just got out of the Navy Seals yesterday, 1st clue he's a lying hobo, long hair, second big belly which I stared at so obviously that he started telling me how he ate too many Indian Tacos, 3rd clue he looks blind in one eye, anyway Hudson looks at him and back at me and back and forth again and again till Hobo man asked where his dad was and I said just over there and booked it across the street as the light changed. I really might start carrying a Ruger sheez. On my way accross the street I saw a couple who had just been married in the temple sigh I just stared back at them remembering that feeling and loving the way they were looking at eachother. This probably gave Taco Hobo man a big head but it was worth staring at!

Tomorrow Hudson will be 11 weeks and he is almost 15 pounds, that's like the size of a 6 month old or something sheez he is a big boy but he is long too so he looks like a really old baby that can't move as smoothly as he should.

Spiders and Fevers

So last night I was feeling feverish, I took my temp and it was 95.7, I was chilled and it was a cheap thermometer so I didn't think much of it. I took an IB profin and went to sleep. At about 4 :30 am I fed Hudson, when I see a spider crawling across our bed. I scream, TJ thinks Hudson is dead, I jump up on our bed, Hudson laughs, TJ kills spider. I took another IB profin in the morning and took Hudson to my work to meet everyone, he loved it. Then it went down hill, I started feeling week and hungry, I got a McDonalds salad mainly because that is the only place on the way home. My fever skyrocketed. I took a Tylenol and turned the space heater on and put on all my warm clothes. I called my mom crying, it was really hard to take care of Hudson. Hudson ran out of diapers so I ran to the store and bought a temporal thermometer. Hudson was fine, mom was at a 103.7 and rising. Finally I called my Dr and we realized I had a breast infection, it crossed my mind, but I had one before and didn't have a fever. So some more IB profin and penicillin later and I'm feeling much better.

I'm a good wife!

So today for young womens the activity was glow in the dark volleyball, super fun, this is at least the 2nd year of it, everyone loves it. However after two narrow misses to sleeping Hudson, I decided to walk around out in the halls. The high-counsel room doors were open, I could hear voices but pretty sure they were in the room next door. So I peeked in and there were TJ's missing scriptures that he left during the baby blessing and had been MIA for almost a month.

Next TJ gave me the go ahead to buy fall boots, I've been looking for the perfect boot for at least 3 seasons, and unwilling to pay a high price. So I searched and searched and searched some more, expecting to spend at least $100. Finally I found a pair for $50 including shipping, and they look perfect!!! I found them on this website 6pm.com and since I've already ordered them I am happy to share my good fortune.

See I'm a good wife!

Bear Lake II

All Summer Fall (whatever season it is) I have been dreaming about Bear Lake, we went last year around this time. So when our friends Scott and Mandy invited us up to a luxury home cabin, we were thrilled. So we packed ourselves up and enjoyed feeding Hudson all day the warm water and sunshine.
My favorite part of the whole trip would have to be the paddle board and the relay. Winners won shakes on us. Anyway it was to canoe out to the water trampoline (where TJ broke his paddle and still managed to torpedo us through the water so fast the front of the canoe where I sat was in the air), jump on the trampoline which I managed to get stuck on the side of (TJ used his brute man strength to heave me up on the trampoline), jump off the floating tube, get on the paddle board, paddle around a buoy and back to the trampoline where I started to climb up the ladder this time TJ shoved me into the ladder where I got tangled instead of on top of the trampoline and laughed so hard I couldn't move. Needless to say TJ hauling me around as his dead weight landed us in 3rd place.

Such a great group up there. Since I spent a lot of time with Hudson and Mandy, Scott's wife is pregnant and tired it was nice for them to have each other to play with that's them on the paddle board together. I love hanging out with Jenny, Cameron, Mandy and Scott. We met a new couple too, Wendy and Justin, Justin and TJ discovered they have the exact same birthday morning year and everything, so fun.
